One of the key ways to build an active connection with your Facebook audience is through commenting. It encourages your followers and potential customers to build a conversation with you, which could end up resulting in you getting a sale.
This psychologically also results in those followers leaving comments later on as they know the person behind the page is going to see them and want to engage in conversation again. The commenter feels heard and that their comments are validated. It helps build a connection even when the connection can’t happen in person. Seeing the discussion already happening might also encourage more people to join in, leading to more discussion and more people being heard.
Make sure to make the conversation a personalized experience. By tagging them and using their name, it will make things feel less robotic and will also send a notification to that person as they had been tagged. Keep it light by using exclamation points and thanking them for taking the time to comment as well.
To a viewer just scrolling by, they will also see the number of comments on the post. Your responses will only make that number larger as well, encouraging people to check out what all the conversation is about.
Make sure this is being done tactfully. If a person is coming to your page to leave hate or spread lies, there are ways to handle it tactfully by simply responding by asking for further clarification in a private message. Don’t encourage arguments for all the world to see.
Advertising doesn’t just end with the final post. Keep it relevant by engaging with those who took the time to comment. At AIM we make sure we check our clients comments and respond every day to do just that.
